Great Yorkshire Show 2026 – Show Report

The Badger Face Texel classes at the Great Yorkshire Show once again produced a fantastic display of quality stock, with exhibitors braving the hot conditions to present the breed to an exceptionally high standard. Competition was strong throughout the day, making for an excellent showcase of Badger Face Texels at one of the country’s premier agricultural shows.

The Badger Face Texel Sheep Society would like to thank Mr Gareth Rowlands of the Margwen Flock for judging this year’s classes. His experience and expertise were greatly appreciated, and we thank him for his time and thoughtful appraisal of the exhibits.

Championship honours went to J Bailey, whose outstanding aged ewe claimed the Female Championship before going on to be crowned Overall Champion. The Reserve Female Champion was awarded to J Bett with an impressive shearling ewe.

In the male section, J Bett secured the Male Championship with an exceptional shearling ram, which later went on to take Reserve Overall Champion. The Reserve Male Champion was awarded to A Barrett, also with a quality shearling ram.

A huge congratulations to all exhibitors for supporting the classes and presenting such an impressive turnout despite the exceptionally warm weather. Your continued enthusiasm and dedication are a real credit to the breed and helped make for another successful Great Yorkshire Show.
