Prices peaked at 1,800gns for the ram lamb Knockmult Heartbreaker from Russell Millen and Seamus Killen’s Knockmult flock, Coleraine, at the Badger Face Texel sale, held at Ballymena Livestock Market.
Heartbreaker, sired by the 4k-breeding Diamond Jumbo and out of Knockmult Glitter, the 2026 Balmoral Champion who herself sold for 3,000gns, went to J Simpson. The Knockmult partnership had four further entries among the day’s top prices: Knockmult Gladys, out of a dam that bred last year’s champion Knockmult Flash, also made 800gns to J Simpson; Knockmult Hilda, sired by “Frank The Tank” out of the in-lamb Champion at Carlisle 2025, made 800gns to Bridget Borlase; her full brother Knockmult Harry made 600gns to D Carson; and Knockmult Geneva, bred on the sire’s side from Balmoral and Welsh Champions, made 400gns to Ellen Dooher.
Nigel Flanagan’s Vermont flock, Keady, had four lots feature. Vermont Ginny, a repeat out of the flock’s Cleenagh Davina line, made 650gns to L Clarke; Vermont Gina, a Knockmult-bred daughter out of a champion ewe bought at Swatragh in 2024, made 400gns to J Ritchie; Vermont Hank, by the five-figure sire Cleenagh Bodybuilder and third at the National Show in Armagh, made 400gns to J & R Bassett; and his full brother Vermont Herma made 350gns to Simeon Allen.
James Richardson’s Drumart flock, Tandragee, sold two lots to W A Turkington: Drumart Gina, out of a junior champion import ewe, for 350gns, and a second Drumart ewe for 300gns.
The Dooher family’s Frilly’s Flock, Strabane, had three lots sell. Frilly’s Flock Holly made 350gns to W Herdman, Frilly’s Flock Hulk, whose full sister stood second in the ewe lamb class at Balmoral 2026, made 300gns to G L Porter, and Frilly’s Flock Henry made 300gns to Liam Campbell. All three were sired by the flock’s junior Dutch Champion import ram, whose progeny have bred to £2,800.
Ms Elaine McConnell’s Corkhill flock, Ballymena, rounded out the day’s top prices at 320gns for Corkhill Grace, selling to Kieran Kelly.
In all, 15 pedigree Badger Face Texels sold to a total of 8,526gns, averaging 568.40gns a head.
