Shearling ewe, Beacons Ginny from Elin Meredith, Cwmtaff, Merthyr Tydfil topped the Welsh Premier Badger Face Texel sale, Welshpool, at 2200gns.
Sired by Knockmult Foden and out of D’Ney Delilah, having earlier stood female champion and reserve overall in the pre-sale show under the watchful eye of Owain Rowlands, she found a new home with W L Williams & Partners, Blackmill, Glamorgan.
Topping the male trade at 1500gns was the overall champion, Celt Hunter, consigned by D T Jones, Pwllheli, Gwynedd. This ram lamb is by Diamond I’m the Ram and out of an Imported ewe and now resides with the judge Owain Rowlands, Rhayader, Powys, backing his earlier judgement in the pre-sale show.
Next best was another lamb from D T Jones, this time a ewe lamb Celt Hati. She is again sired by Diamond I’m the ram, this time out of a different imported ewe being a maternal sister to the 2025 RWAS champion. She was the pick of D Morgan, Talybont, Ceredigion, for 1250gns.
D T Jones sold another ram lamb for 620gns in the form of Celt Hari. This one is a twin brother to the previously mentioned ewe lamb Celt Hati and was snapped up by C Davies, Trefnant, Denbighshire.
At 600gns Caitlyn and Eva Howells, Port Talbot, West Glamorgan, saw their ewe lamb Evelyn Hardie sell to J Smith, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. She is sired by the homebred Evelyn Gladiator and out of Margwen Eve.
