The Pistyll Dapper daughter, Beacons Eye Catcher, from Angharad Francis, Abergorlech, Carmarthen, caught the eye of David Leedham, Lutterworth, Leicestershire, and led the trade at 1300gns, at the Badger Face Texels annual Merry Belles sale at Welshpool on Thursday 12 December 2024. This shearling ewe who was crowned reserve overall champion by judge Elin Flur Williams, Gardolbenmaen, Gwynedd at the pre-sale show, was bred from the Sunnybank Boss Bitch dam and sold in lamb to Bonny & Bold El Equinox.
The pre-sale overall champion was the ewe lamb Banc Foxy Lady, from Huw and Kate Williams, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, a Hackney Yes- Man sired lamb out of the imported Turbo Das ewe. This was bought by the Judge Elin Fflur Williams, backing her judgement at 1000gns.
Matching this bid at 1000gns was L C Martin, Corscombe, Dorchester, for the shearling ewe Margwen Eva, a Llwyn Derw Chopsy sired shearling from a homebred ewe, residing from Gareth Rowlands, Llanddeusant, Holyhead. She had been crowned female champion in the any other breed section at Anglesey show and was sold after running with Knockmult Finley.
