High Ploughlands Fergie tops new year trade

The first Badger Face Texel sale of 2025 held at Kendal on the 4th of January was led by Hannah Pedley of the High Ploughlands flock, Kirby Stephen, Cumbria with her twin ewe lamb, High Ploughlands Fergie, a Knockmult Earl ET sired lamb bred from High Ploughlands (import). At 1000gns the hammer fell to E Thomas, Daventry, Northamptonshire who also purchased High Ploughlands Foxy Lady, another by Knockmult Earl ET this time out of High Ploughlands Diamond, for 500gns.

Leading the shearling ewe trade was A & S Miles of the Redsyke flock, Cumbria, with Woodies (Import) 26407-84339, bred by B P Boekema. She sold scanned in lamb with twins to Strathview Eric for 650gns to M Craig, Glencope, Dumfriesshire, alongside the 500gns, Sunnybank Dutch Courage, bred by Mr H C Jewitt. 

S Coward, Grange-over-sand, Cumbria purchased two shearling ewes at 500gns, the first Woodies (Import) 26069-59996, sired by Jan Postma (Dutch) and bred from the dam Braam / Raats (import), the second was Sunnybank Daisy Dares You.

The first Badger Face through the sale ring commanded 500gns, Woodies (import) 08368-14953 a Van Deijne daughter and was knocked down to R K Wood, Stokesley, North Yorkshire.
