Leading trade at Worcester on Saturday for the small Badger Face Texel offering was an aged ewe from I D and S B James’ Llandrindod Wells-based Betws flock.
Selling for 800gns was Betws Eleri, a daughter of an imported ram out of a homebred female by Whatnore Xylophone. She sold in lamb to Whatmore Decanter to C Plant, of the Hobhay flock, Derbyshire.

Having secured the championship under judge Chris Davies, Brecon, a ewe lamb from Sue and Aubrey Andrews’s Misserden flock commanded a price tag of 750gns.

The champion Miserden Gemini from the Stroud, Glos-based flock is by Miserden Fandango and out of a homebred ewe, Miserden Daffodil. Taking this one home was P and S Eckett, Lydlinch, Dorset.
Next up at 700gns was the second placed ewe lamb and reserve champion, Tooloos Gracious from Tommy Digweed, Chipping Campden, Glos. By Yarburgh Jack Flash, she’s out of a Woodies imported female and was the pick of Dave and Kathryn Thompson, Dorset.

Averages: 1 aged ewe £840.00; 3 shearling ewes £612.50; 6 ewe lambs £577.50 (McCartneys).
